A new world’s best practice The brand new fully equipped
Hatchery located at East Bendigo hatches all Hazeldene's chicken
stock. Hazeldene's is truly self sufficient. producing.
Specially equipped Egg Transport trucks pick up eggs from
the Breeder Farms and transport them to the Hatchery, for
incubating and hatching.
Once hatched, the day old chickens are transported to broiler
farms where the chicks grow until they reach the desired processing
weight.
The only-recently completed sophisticated hatchery has been
part of the long term development strategy of the company
at the cost of millions of dollars.
The new hatchery has the capacity to process large numbers
of additional birds per week, thus providing for the company’s
ies growth well into the future.
This new facility also provides exacting quality control,
establishing a new global industry benchmark in chick quality.
State of the art equipment from leading Danish suppliers,
provides for single-stage incubating and hatching, with improved
hygiene and maintenance of consistent conditions throughout
the whole incubation period.
Backup power generation, water storage and air conditioning
are all part of this new stand alone facility.
