The Laboratory Technician is accountable for:

  • Preparation of media for microbiological testing as required
  • Perform sensory evaluations on retention samples as required
  • Perform microbiological testing on product samples as required
  • Data entry of analysis of product testing as required
  • Perform any duties as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Performing routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Liaising with departments on samples required

This is an important role and our ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Microbiology or Laboratory Technology
  • Sound Laboratory Practices
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Sound personnel hygiene practices
  • Well developed written and oral communication skills
  • Good organisational and prioritising ability
  • A strong focus on meeting targets
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy
  • A commitment to providing quality customer service
  • Previous laboratory experience would be desirable

An exciting opportunity is available for a Livestock Planner.  This is an exciting opportunity which will provide the incumbent with the opportunity to drive this important business function.  The Livestock Planner is responsible for effective demand planning, flock selection and production scheduling to ensure optimum utilisation of livestock and accurate delivery of bird weights that consistently meet stringent customer specifications daily.

This role will suit a candidate who thrives on working in a dynamic environment, who has strong numerical ability and is able to work across departments in a collaborative manner to achieve common goals.

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years’ previous experience in a complex planning role in manufacturing or retail environment, preferably FMCG
  • Business Management Degree or Diploma preferred
  • Strong mathematical aptitude with very high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of computer literacy is essential with a very high level of competence with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel, and an ability to adapt to different software packages
  • Excellent written and oral communication skill
  • Understanding of Food Processing/Manufacturing environment
  • Strong principles, values and ethics centred around honesty, integrity, acceptance of challenge, and a ‘can-do’ attitude

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Credit Controller is primarily responsible for Hazeldenes’ credit collection function, including following up accounts; collecting outstanding debts; and customer account queries.  The successful candidate must have a preparedness to cover the full gambit of functions from daily banking to debt collection.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a credit collection role
  • High level of customer service skills, including well-established negotiation skills
  • Competency to utilise Microsoft Office packages and financial software packages
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Team-oriented approach
  • Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to work to established deadlines

We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our small and vibrant team. This is an exciting and challenging role for an experienced mechanic to carry out the following tasks:

  • Routine services and maintenance repairs (breakdown, corrective and preventative maintenance) on our fleet of modern trucks
  • Fault diagnosis auto electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic
  • Engine and transmission repairs
  • Liaise with Drivers, Administration Staff and Management
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed.

To be considered for this role you will need to be committed to safety in the workplace.  Additionally, candidates must possess:

  • Time management skills, interpersonal skills, knowledge of GMP, OH&S requirements and good organisational skills including basic knowledge of computers – Excel/Word etc.
  • Be capable of coordinating a small team. Inclusive of providing support, direction and advice as required and working autonomously to provide support to the vehicle maintenance, and road transport areas outside normal operating hours.
  • Be willing to undertake further training to enhance and improve their skills and knowledge base
  • Be a qualified diesel mechanic with previous experience in a similar role
  • Hold a current driver’s licence
  • Hold or have the ability to gain HR, and Forklift licences
  • Be flexible with work on call rosters.
